Q. How do I apply for an open position?
A. Interested candidates can apply by completing
the on-line application and submitting it electronically to the Human Resources
Manager. Individuals
may also apply by submitting a resume in person, via e-mail/mail or completing
an application in the respective office.
Q. How
long are applications/resumes kept on file?
A. Applications/resumes will be on kept on file one
(1) year from the date of their submission.
Q. How
often is orientation held for direct caregivers? What time does orientation
begin and end? Am I able to just show up and attend the training? What
do I need to bring to the training?
A. Orientation is held every Monday, except for holidays,
in the Rochester office. Orientation begins at
8:00am and concludes around 3:00pm. Applicants are not able to just
show up for the training. Every
prospective candidate that attends orientation has gone through the hiring
process and has been scheduled to attend. Individuals that attend
orientation need to make sure they bring a photo ID, social security card
or birth certificate, a voided check or savings deposit slip for direct
deposit, and proof of current auto insurance coverage.
Q. What is the starting wage for a direct caregiver position?
A. The starting wage for SEMCIL Personal Care Assistants
(PCAs) and Homemakers is $10.10 per hour. The starting wage for SEMCIL UHHC Home Health Aides (HHAs) is $10.40 per hour and SEMCIL UHHC Homemakers is $10.20
per hour. The
starting wage rate is reviewed typically on an annual basis by management,
or as deemed necessary.
