About Independent Living Skills
Independent Living Skills training assists persons with disabilities
to learn skills and accomplish their individual goals. The program is
individualized, goal oriented, and outcome based. The length of services
is determined by the progress that is made in accomplishing specific
goals. Consumers work one on one with independent living staff in a variety
of areas:
- Budgeting
- How to use Public Transportation
- Time Management
- Meal planning & Preparation
- Leisure and Social Skills
- Housing Search
- Housekeeping Skills
- Employment
Program Goals:
- Assist persons with disabilities to improve their ability to live independently in the community.
- Help individuals learn independent living skills.
- Assist persons with disabilities to achieve their individual
goals.
