Peer Mentor Services

About Peer Mentor

A peer is an individual with a disability that has been trained to help consumers locate community resources, identify individual goals and make adjustments to a newly acquired or progressive disability. Persons with a disability meet one-to-one with a peer mentor. Peer support services offered by SEMCIL include individual and group services.

Program Goals
  • Provide resources to persons with disabilities seeking peer support.
  • Provide training to persons with disabilities who would like to be a peer mentor.
  • Facilitate peer support groups for persons with disabilities.
  • Provide support and guidance to persons with disabilities through shared experiences.
