About Senior Companion Program
Through collaborative efforts with public agencies, private non-profits
and health care organizations, the Senior Companion Program assists in
meeting the needs of seniors who wish to remain in their own homes. Senior
companions serve older adults, persons with disabilities or individuals
recovering from an illness.
Senior Companions are adults, 60 years or older, who assist others by:
- Visiting homebound adults or prevent isolation
- Providing support to family caregivers
- Acting as a friend who listens and cares
- Assisting with daily living tasks
SEMCIL is a Senior Companion site for
Olmsted County. If you or someone you know could benefit from a Senior
Companion call our Rochester SEMCIL office at (507) 285-1815.
