Participants will spend 2 days per session baking and decorating Cake, Cupcakes or Cookies. Participants will learn about baking terms, equipment and utensils used in baking. Demonstrate proper selection of ingredients. Apply basic math skills to recipe conversion and learn proper measurement techniques.
Fees: $6 per two day session
Ages: 18 and up
Dates / Times: 2 Days, December 5th and 6th from 2:30-4:00
IL Plan: Collaborate with SEMCIL staff to meet the goals for this session.
Goal: Increase overall baking skills through hands-on participation in Baking Class. Increase comfort level in the kitchen through practice and experience. Objective: Learn about/review kitchen safety. Increase ability to read/follow/understand recipes. Interact socially with SEMCIL staff and peers. Participate in the preparation and cleanup of class recipes.
