Personal Care Assistant (PCA) Services
Direct Support Professionals (DSPs) and Homemakers may assist with:
- Activities of Daily Living
- Health-related procedures and tasks
- Instrumental Activities of Daily Living
- Meal preparation & essential housekeeping
- Community integration
PCA recipients (or their responsible party) must be able to direct their own care, identify their independent living and healthcare needs, communicate their needs effectively, and require PCA services to live in the community.
PCA services are available to people with disabilities covered by MN Medical Assistance (MA) or by a CAC, TBI, DD, CADI, EW or AC Waiver. Service and payment authorization must be completed before services may begin.
